This garden questions the relationship between fossil fuels and bio-fuels (of plant origin). Featured are several plants that can be transformed to fuel, also chosen for their colour (sunflower, flax, beets), for their striking allure (castor-oil plant, E-grass miscanthus), or their universal impact (wheat).
In the centre, an immense mobile counteres a petrol drum with its plant equivalent. Try out this balancing game and help lift the plant bed while the oil barrel sinks.
For 176 grams of petrol, it takes almost a square metre of wheat: this fuel pollutes the least, but requires the greatest land surface area.
How can we find a durable harmony between development and environment? Through balance and measure, we may certainly find an adequate answer to our questions of energy resources.
