This garden speaks about the accessibility and restricted mobility. Four wheelchairs are at your disposal for the visit, the paths equipped with ramps and platforms.
The question of physical disability is constantly raised here: names of plants in Braille, a critique of the role of the handicapped in urban areas where rest stops and handicapped parking are often neglected. The plants can be admired at wheelchair height.
The airy space on the last upper landing gives pause to reflect upon the visually impaired. The tables reunite able-bodied people and invalids so as to encourage exchange and dialogue. Handicapped or not, opening up to others is an experience that makes us nervous. This accessible garden helps us seek access to one another.
