This hopscotch game floats at the
surface of a pool. Each jump on a square makes a
different water effect: flower designs, rain, bubbles, fog, squirts…
For the designers of this garden, “hopscotch is a world in the middle
of the asphalt, on the street, or more often on the school playground. The
floating world of a little girl hopping on one foot from one square to another
to reach the sky.”
This garden reminds us of simple childhood games, but also of the sophisticated
fountains of historical gardens. This age-old game of hopscotch, in the eyes
of the designers, brings to mind board games or video games: the little person
that jumps from one space to another, always facing new snares and dangers
