Réaction en chêne La Machine, François DELAROZIERE |
|
This flying greenhouse, originally designed for the Flower Show of Nantes, has landed in Chaumont, charged with a new mission : What will become of the tomorrow’s forest in the Loire Valley? Will global warming transform it?
The Floraplane has chosen to study the case of the oak, emblematic tree of our forests. The flying greenhouse has brought back acorns from its travels across the world from all climates. A conveyor belt helps to sort out all the trial tests, cramped in the greenhouse laboratory. Having explored the world over for acorns, the machine has been colonized by epiphytic plants that cling to any protrusion available.
When the party is over, these thousands of young trees will strike out to populate the future forests around Nantes.
