This “Flight 2007 for Chaumont” presents a fragmental breakdown, a pixellization of the garden.
On the ground, the path is left free, offering total liberty of movement. This garden has become mobile, aerial, ethereal and shimmering. The floating patchwork display offers a multitude of facets, a multitude of gardens, or pieces of a garden, that fly about. The shadows and the reflections that bounce off the ground give it volume.
Amid the grasses, a few “chlorophyll pixels” escape.
The dance of the glimmering, playful leaves composes an infinity of landscapes. Each plant square offers an ever-changing image due to the passing seasons.
So, technological shadow play? Reminiscence of French gardens? Sleepwalking mosaics? Suspension points…
