Undergarden is based on the idea of extending the art of graffiti to the world of gardens. The “underground” movement of graffiti artists, recognized today as a art form, applies itself here to the vegetable world.
The fluid movements, the quick, continuous strokes, the lines that drift into nowhere -these are the marks of taggers that have inspired the shapes of the garden. The materials and colours of the graffiti are expressed through the plants; plants and matter replace the aerosol can.
The Undergarden offers a contemporary interpretation of the formal garden, trying new materials and ideas for urban spaces. These public thoroughfares strikingly contrast deterioration and creativity.
The vegetation and the graffiti invade each other!
